List of domestic Asian water buffalo breeds
Common Domestic Asian Water buffalo are the descendants of the now designated endangered species Wild Asian Water buffalo, bred predominantly in Asia for thousands of years for use by humans. Their main domestic uses are as draught animals, dairy producers and meat production.
Now an endangered species, the Wild Asian Water Buffalo is the ancestor species from which all Domestic Asian Water buffalo breeds have descended:
